Faculty-Led Programs in Kenya

Bring Your Students to Kenya for a Meaningful Global Learning Experience

Inspire Global Impact partners with colleges, universities, faculty members, and student organizations to create customized global learning experiences in Kenya.

We work with faculty to connect academic goals, cultural learning, community engagement, and real-world experience in a way that is meaningful for students and respectful of local communities.

You bring your academic goals and students.

We help create the local experience, partnerships, logistics, and support that bring those goals to life.

Designed Around Your Academic Goals

Every faculty-led program can be shaped around your course, discipline, students, and learning objectives.

Programs may be developed for areas such as::

  • Public Health

  • Nursing

  • Education

  • Psychology

  • Social Work

  • Global Studies

  • Leadership

  • Community Development

  • Intercultural Learning

  • Other related academic disciplines

No prior experience is required. Volunteers receive guidance and support throughout the program.

What a Faculty-Led Experience May Include

Community-Based Learning

Students participate in structured activities developed with local educators and community partners.

Experiences are designed around community priorities and appropriate student roles.

Academic & Professional Learning

Programs can be designed to help students connect their classroom learning with real-world experiences.

Students may explore how their field intersects with culture, community, health, education, leadership, or global issues.

Cultural Immersion

Students experience Kenya beyond traditional tourism through cultural exchange, community interaction, local experiences, and guided excursions.

Student Leadership & Growth

Students have opportunities to strengthen:

  • Communication

  • Leadership

  • Cultural competence

  • Adaptability

  • Teamwork

  • Confidence

  • Global awareness

  • Professional skills

Guided Reflection

Reflection helps students process their experiences and connect them to academic concepts, professional development, and personal growth.

Reflection activities can be adapted to faculty goals.

We Handle the Local Logistics

Planning an international program can be overwhelming.

Inspire Global Impact can provide support with:

  • Program development

  • Local community partnerships

  • Housing

  • Meals

  • Airport transportation

  • Local transportation

  • Cultural experiences

  • Excursions

  • On-site coordination

  • Student support

  • Local communication and guidance

Our goal is to provide a well-organized local experience so faculty can focus on their students and educational objectives.

Safety & Student Support

Student safety is a central part of every program.

Participants receive preparation and guidance before and during their experience, including support with cultural navigation, local expectations, transportation, and responsible decision-making.

Housing, transportation, program sites, and local activities are selected with student safety and appropriate support in mind.

In an emergency, established communication and response procedures are followed, with appropriate communication to faculty, advisors, and families.

Ethical Community Engagement

We believe international education should be built on partnership, respect, and learning—not the idea that students are coming to "save" a community.

Our programs emphasize:

  • Learning from local expertise

  • Respect for community priorities

  • Cultural humility

  • Appropriate student participation

  • Long-term relationships

  • Meaningful engagement

  • Reflection and learning

Students are not placed in professional roles for which they are not qualified.

  • Colleges and universities

  • Faculty members

  • Academic departments

  • Study-abroad offices

What Students and Families Are Saying

“Last summer in Kenya, I learned one of the best lessons of my life: never let fear or misunderstanding hinder you from amazing opportunities. My experience in Kenya with Azma far exceeded my initial imagination. The country, culture, and people were so welcoming, and my experience gave me participation and exposure in a variety of settings. I cannot wait to return to Kenya in the future, and this is due to Azma International.”

Hannah, NC State

“This program helped me connect what I’m learning in class to real community contexts. I gained confidence, cultural awareness, and practical experience I now use in class discussions and professional applications.”

Student, Oregon State University
“Working alongside community leaders helped me grow in ways I couldn’t have gained from a classroom alone. I developed confidence, cultural awareness, and real examples I now use in my nursing and leadership courses.”

Student, Roseman University Nevada
“This program aligns with what we want our students to develop—global competence, professionalism, and the ability to work responsibly across cultures. Students return with stronger communication skills, thoughtful reflection, and meaningful experiences they can speak to in academic and career settings.”
